MEN’S GOLF OPENS SPRING WITH A WIN

Junior Rob Donahoe (Canton, Mass.) fired a two-day score of 151 (76, 75; +7) and earned medalist honors to lead the Middlebury College men's golf team to a first-place finish at the 14-team Rhode Island College Spring Invitational, played at Triggs Memorial Golf Course on April 5-6.

At the end of Saturday’s events, Donahoe stood in a tie with senior William Prince (New Canaan, Conn.). Donahoe edged out his teammate (75, 76; 151) in the tiebreaker to take home medalist honors. Junior Max Alley (Albany, N.Y.) registered a 157 (77, 80; +13) to place fourth, followed by sophomore Eric Laorr (Eden Prairie, Minn.), who finished tied for seventh with a 157 (77, 80). Sophomore Charlie Garcia (Garden City, N.Y.) rounded out the Panther golfers with a 172 (86, 86).
