The Middlebury College men’s basketball team won three games last week, two of them in NESCAC play on the road. The sixth-ranked Panthers enter the final week of the regular season with a 19-1 mark.

The Panther women’s squash team finished up the NESCAC Championship weekend with a third-place finish. The 11th-ranked Panthers earned a first-round bye, topping #17 Bowdoin 9-0 in the quarterfinals on Saturday. Later that afternoon, Middlebury fell by a score of 6-3 to 10th-ranked Williams in the semifinals.

The Middlebury College men’s hockey team has now won four straight games and has moved into a second-place tie in the NESCAC standings. The Panthers wore camouflage jerseys during the two home games as a fundraiser for Wounded Warriors. For more information or to buy a jersey, click here.

The Panther indoor track teams took part in the Dartmouth Indoor Classic on Saturday afternoon. Teams from Division I, II and III competed at the meet, with several Panthers turning in solid performances. Juniors Bryan Holtzman (Sudbury, Mass.) and Kevin Chu (Burlington, VT.), along with first-year racer Lauren Henry (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) all set school records at the meet.

The Middlebury College swimming and diving teams hosted a two-day invitational on Friday and Saturday in the natatorium. Williams, Amherst and Springfield were on campus to take part in the meet, which boasted some impressive times.

The Middlebury College ski team finished fourth overall as the UVM Carnival came to an end on Sunday afternoon. The host school won the event with 868 points, followed by Dartmouth (860), UNH (744) and Middlebury (673).

The Middlebury College women’s basketball team saw Bowdoin pull away in the second half for a 60-40 win over the Panthers on Friday evening at Morrell Gymnasium.

The Middlebury men’s squash team finished fourth at the NESCAC Championship hosted by Trinity. After earning a first-round bye, 16th-ranked Middlebury cruised to an 8-1 win over #19 Bowdoin in the quarterfinals on Saturday. Later that day, the Panthers faced the second-ranked team in the nation, falling to eventual champion Trinity, 9-0. Middlebury returned to action on Sunday, falling 7-2 to #15 Bates in the third place match.

The fifth-ranked Middlebury College women’s hockey team team dropped a 3-1 road game at top-ranked Plattsburgh State (19-0-1) on Wednesday night. A goal by Plattsburgh’s Allison Era at 7:20 of the third period proved to be the difference-maker in the Cardinals’ win.
