Middlebury sophomore Katie Sullivan (Bethesda, Md.) scored the game-winning goal in overtime to earn the hat-trick as Middlebury advanced to the final four with a 3-2 overtime win at Norwich in an NCAA Quarterfinal game. The lead was the first of the game for the Panthers 74:28 into the game, as they advance to the final four for the seventh time.

The Middlebury College men’s basketball team advanced to the third round of the NCAA Tournament with a 67-63 road win at Cortland. The Panthers (24-3) will return to action on Saturday the 16th, when they host Ithaca at 4:00 p.m.

The Panther women’s indoor DMR team was unable to earn the three-peat as the Panthers finished second at the 2013 NCAA Championships hosted by North Central College in Naperville, Ill. The team of seniors Addie Tousley (Kensington, Md.), Sarah O’Brien (Wellesley, Mass.), Juliet Ryan-Davis (Newton, Mass.) and rookie Alexandra Morris (London, England) fell behind early but battled back to earn a second place finish in 11:34.51.

The Middlebury College ski team hosted the 2013 NCAA Championships at the Snow Bowl and Rikert Nordic center from Wednesday through Saturday last week. The Panthers finished the event 10th overall, as Colorado took home its 18th national title.

The Panther men’s tennis team played its first three spring matches of the season, picking up three wins indoors in Vermont. The 14th-ranked Panthers lost just three of 27 matches over the weekend, as the team’s returns to action with its annual spring break trip to California on March 23rd.

The Middlebury College women’s tennis team opened up its spring season with three indoor matches. The sixth-ranked Panthers had little trouble, winning 20 of 24 contests over the weekend. Middlebury returns to action in California on March 23rd during its annual spring break trip.

The Middlebury College women’s lacrosse team opened the 2013 season with a decisive victory over NESCAC foe Bates 20-4 at Kohn Field. The Panthers (1-0, 1-0) broke open a 2-1 game, closing out the first half on an 11-0 run.

The Panther men’s lacrosse team scored six straight goals, erasing a 5-4 deficit and assuming a 10-5 edge by early in the fourth quarter, and staved off Bates for a 10-8 NESCAC  victory in the conference opener for both teams. Rookie Jon Broome (Mountain Lakes, N.J.) scored four goals for Middlebury (1-0), while senior Stew Kerr (Lake Forest, Ill.) added two goals and an assist.
