The Middlebury College Idoor track team sent a handful of athletes to Boston University to compete in the B.U. Valentines Meet. When the weekend had completed, five new school records had been set by the Panthers, including a nation’s best time of 11:40 in the women’s DMR.
The Panther women’s hockey team picked up three more wins last week, two of them against Williams. Middlebury picked up a 7-1 non-league road win at N.E.C. on Tuesday night at Lee Clement Arena.
The Middlebury College men’s hockey team won its third straight NESCAC game as the Panthers picked up a 5-1 win at Williams on Thursday night. Middlebury controlled the game, holding a 48-23 shots advantage in the contest.
The Panther ski team finished fourth overall at the Dartmouth Carnival, with strong performances by the men’s alpine and nordic teams. UVM (982) won the event, followed by Dartmouth (820), UNH (722) and Middlebury (712). The Panthers return to action at the Williams Carnival next weekend.
The second-ranked Middlebury College men’s basketball team cruised to a 103-70 non-conference victory over Lyndon State (4-16) on the road. The Panthers will host Williams in a NESCAC Quarterfinal game on Saturday at 3:00.
The Middlebury College women’s squash team earned a 3-1 mark over the weekend as the team’s February break came to an end. The 11th-ranked Panthers opened with an 8-1 loss at #8 Dartmouth on Friday night. Saturday at MIT, Middlebury topped #24 Wellesley 9-0 before earning a 7-2 victory over #9 Bates.
The Panther men’s squash team went 2-2 over a three-day span at the end of February break. The 11th-ranked Panthers fell 8-1 at #7 Dartmouth on Friday night, before playing a pair of matches at MIT.
The Middlebury College women’s basketball team outscored Lyndon State 40-14 in the first half en route to a 69-40 non-conference road win over the Hornets (7-13).
