The Middlebury College ski team finished tied for third overall at the 89th annual Middlebury College winter carnival. Alpine events took place at the Middlebury College Snow Bowl, while nordic events were moved to the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe after a lack of snow at the Rikert Ski Touring Center.  Vermont won the event with 955, followed by Dartmouth (848), Middlebury (724) and UNH (724).

The Middlebury College men’s basketball team will makes its fifth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance when they host a regional on March 2nd & 3rd in Pepin Gym. The Panthers will take on Morrisville on Friday at 7:30 p.m., preceded by a game between Albertus Magnus and St. Joseph’s of Long Island at 5:30. The winners meet on Saturday night at 7:00 in the regional final.

The Middlebury College women’s squash team finished up their season ranked 11th nationally after competing in the Kurtz Cup (B Division) at nationals hosted by Harvard. The Panthers finished third overall among Division III schools and were voted the most improved team in the nation.

The Panther women’s hockey team scored four goals in a 4:12 span in the second period on its way to a 5-1 win over Colby (6-17-2) in a NESCAC Quarterfinal match-up. The fourth-ranked Panthers (19-3-3) advance to host the NESCAC semifinals and championship on March 3rd and 4th in Kenyon Arena.

Junior Chris Steele (Revere, Mass.) scored with 3:03 remaining in the third period, lifting Middlebury to a 2-1 win over Wesleyan in a NESCAC Quarterfinal game in Kenyon Arena. The Panthers (13-9-3) advance to the NESCAC semifinals where they will meet Bowdoin at Amherst on Saturday, March 3rd.

The Panther indoor track teams competed at the Open New England Championships hosted by Boston University on Friday and Saturday. Both DMR relay teams continued to impress, breaking their own school records at the meet that was comprised of Division I, II and III teams.

The Middlebury College men’s swimming and diving team held on to seventh place throughout the NESCAC Men's Swimming & Diving Championships hosted by Williams College. The Ephs won the event with 2,011 points, followed by Amherst with 1,959, while the Panthers earned 646.5 points.
