SWIMMING AND DIVING TOPS HAMILTON

The Panther swimming and diving teams returned to action with home wins over Hamilton. The men emerged with a 167-65 victory, while the women came away with a 164-78 win.
The Middlebury men won 12 of 14 events, with 10 different individual winners. The women’s squad captured nine of 13 events, with a pair of swimmers each picking up a pair of victories. Senior Katherine Loftus, (Madison, Conn.) earned a win in the 1,000 free with a time of 10:44.12, while capturing the 500 free in 5:13.59. Also winning twice was first-year swimmer Jamie Hillas (Woodbridge, Conn.), who won both the 200 IM (2:13.06) and the 200 breaststroke (2:29.78).
