MEN’S TENNIS WINS FOUR MATCHES TO OPEN SPRING

The Middlebury College men’s tennis team opened up spring action with four matches taking place indoors on campus. The Panthers are currently ranked seventh nationally to begin spring play, as they prepare to host Tufts on Friday before heading on their annual spring break trip on March 23rd.
The season began with Middlebury picking up a 9-0 win over Hamilton with all straight-set victories. An 8-1 victory over Brandeis saw the Panthers win all of their matches in straight sets as well, while the team capped a lengthy day with a 9-0 win over N.Y.U.
In a tight NESCAC match-up on Sunday, the Panthers emerged with a 7-2 win over #26 Bates to move to 2-0 in league play. Several matches were tight, including three-set victories for senior Derrick Angle (Troy, N.Y.) and sophomore Brantner Jones (Winnetka, Ill.).
