TRACK AND FIELD IN ACTION AT NEW ENGLAND’S

The Middlebury track and field teams competed at the 2012 New England Championships hosted by MIT. The women placed sixth among 27 teams, while the men came in 12th. Junior Grace Doering (Darien, Conn.) won the N.E. title in the high jump, clearing 5’7.25”. Also taking home the New England title was junior Addie Tousley (Kensington, Md.), who won the 1,500 in 4:30.80.
Junior Juliet Ryan-Davis (Newton, Mass.) earned a second place finish for the Panthers in the 800, earning a time of 2:11.28. Just behind her in third place was senior Rebecca Fanning (Ipswich, Mass.), who earned a time of 2:12.89. Senior Mia Martinez (Ridgewood, N.J.) placed fourth in the 100 hurdles, finishing in 14.72.
On the men’s side, top performers came in the 1,500 race, where juniors Jack Davies (Grosse Pointe, Mich.) and Patrick Hebble (Sudbury, Mass.) finished in the top four. Davies ended with a time of 3:51.94 to place second overall, while Hebble was fourth in 3:52.84.
