The Middlebury College track and field team finished strong on the final day of competition at the NCAA Championships at the Fritz B. Burns Stadium on the campus of Claremont-Mudd-Scripts in California. The Panther men finished tied for eighth among 82 teams scoring, while the women were tied for 15th among 80 scoring squads.
Lok-Sze Leung (Hong Kong) saw her hopes of an NCAA Singles Championship come up one match short, falling in the title match at Cary Tennis Park in Cary, N.C. The Panther rookie was defeated 6-2, 7-6 (1) by Gabrielle Clark of Emory in the title match. The win avenged a loss for Clark, who was defeated by Leung 6-2, 6-3 back on April 13th. Leung finishes up a stellar rookie season with a record of 34-3.
