The Middlebury College men’s hockey team improved to 4-0 in NESCAC play with a pair of road wins last week. Senior Martin Drolet (Montreal, Que.) scored the game-winning goal 5:21 into the third period as 11th ranked Middlebury remained undefeated in NESCAC with a 3-2 hockey victory at Tufts on Saturday afternoon at Valley Forum II.
The Panther women's hockey team scored a power play goal 7:43 into the second period and made it stand up, posting a 2-1 win over Trinity (1-3, 1-2) in their home-opener in Kenyon Arena.
The second-ranked Panther men’s basketball team moved to 5-0 on the season with a 107-51 drubbing at Southern Vermont. In the first five minutes Middlebury ran out to a nine point advantage, and never allowed Southern Vermont to lead in the game.
The Middlebury College women’s basketball team picked up a win in its home-opener with a 48-35 win over Castleton State in Pepin Gym.
The Panther swimming and diving teams returned to action with a meet at Amherst on Saturday. The Panther men suffered a 162-116 loss, while the women were defeated 173-127.
The Middlebury men’s squash team earned its first win of the season, topping #14 Navy 5-4 at Williams. The middle of the line-up won the day for the #15 Panthers, who picked up wins at ladder spot numbers 4-7 without dropping a game.
