            The Middlebury College women's volleyball team fell to Trinity 3-1 (25-21, 20-25, 25-15, 25-18) on Friday night at Wesleyan, before defeating the host school 3-1 (21-25, 25-11, 25-15, 25-15) on Saturday afternoon.

            Sophomore Megan Jarchow (Cos Cob, Conn.) earned 17 kills and 15 digs, while junior Sarah Studwell (Pittsford, N.Y.) added a dozen kills against Trinity. Junior Caitlin Barrett (Medfield, Mass.)

chipped in with 14 digs, while junior Julia Gibbs (Houston, Texas) had 40 assists.

            Sophomore Amy Hart (Kenilworth, Ill.) (14), Studwell (13) and Jarchow (10) were the leaders in kills in the victory over Wesleyan. Jarchow added 16 digs, Barrett had a dozen, while Gibbs again had 40 assists.

            Earlier in the week, the Panthers earned a 3-0 (21,14, 14) win over Norwich (4-4) in the team's home-opener in Pepin Gym.

            Jarchow and senior Elissa Goeke (Chevy Chase, Md.) led the balanced scoring attack with five kills apiece, while Studwell added four. Sophomore Courtney Shepard (Centennial, Colo.) earned 14 assists in the game, Gibbs had six assists, five service aces and four blocks assists.

            Defensively, Barrett earned a team-high 11 digs, sophomore Meg Anderson (Berlin, Mass.)

picked up nine, while Gibbs added eight.
