September 19, 2011

The Panther cross country teams hosted their annual invitational races on campus, which will now be known as the "Aldrich Invitational", after long-time head coach Terry Aldrich who retired last year. Saturday’s races featured seven full men's teams and six women's squads in action. The Panthers dominated both races, placing eight of the top 10 men’s and women’s finishers.

Junior Jack Davies (Grosse Pointe, Mich.) was next with a time of 26:17, followed by sophomore Nate Sans (Princeton, Mass.) in third place in 26:29. Finishing fourth was rookie Kevin Wood (Lincolnshire, Ill.) in 26:32, followed by senior Sam Miller (Needham, Mass.) in fifth place with a time of 26:33 to round out the Middlebury scorers.

Senior Margo Cramer (Seattle, Wash.) won the women’s race after a third place finish a year ago, finishing with a time of 18:46. Junior Addie Tousley (Kensington, Md.) finished in second place (18:57), followed by rookie Katie Carlson (Princeton, Mass.) in third (19:02) and sophomore Emily Attwood (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) (19:05) in fourth place.
