 The Middlebury men's tennis team The Middlebury men’s tennis team won five of six flights at its own invitational tournament over the weekend. The Panthers boasted six of eight singles finalists and three of four doubles teams appearing in the finals. Middlebury junior Alec Parower (Scarsdale, N.Y.) defeated his sophomore teammate Brantner Jones (Winnetka, Ill.) in the final match of the day, capturing the “A” final, 6-2, 6-1.

The Panther cross country teams hosted their annual invitational races on campus, which will now be known as the "Aldrich Invitational", after long-time head coach Terry Aldrich who retired last year. Saturday’s races featured seven full men's teams and six women's squads in action. The Panthers dominated both races, placing eight of the top 10 men’s and women’s finishers.

The Middlebury College women’s golf team finished second among 11 teams at the N.Y.U. Invitational over the weekend. Williams won the event with a 630, followed by Middlebury (643) and Amherst (661). Senior Flora Weeks (Seattle, Wash.) earned medalist honors at the event, shooting 75 and 76 for a two-day total of 151 to place first among 66 golfers.

Leading by four strokes after 18 holes, Skidmore fired a 292 on day two to capture the 27th Duke Nelson Tournament hosted by Middlebury College. The Thoroughbreds finished with a 588, followed by Williams (607), ’10 champion Rensselaer (608), Springfield (609) and Middlebury (611).

The Middlebury College women's tennis team was in action over the weekend at the Harvard Fall Classic. The Panthers competed against all Division I teams with some impressive success.  Rookie Lok-Sze Leung (Hong Kong) won the “C” singles flight, cruising to a 6-0, 6-1 win over her opponent from UMass. in the finals.

The Middlebury College women's volleyball team fell to Trinity 3-1 (25-21, 20-25, 25-15, 25-18) on Friday night at Wesleyan, before defeating the host school 3-1 (21-25, 25-11, 25-15, 25-15) on Saturday afternoon.

The Panther women’s soccer team saw sophomore Scarlett Kirk (San Francisco, Calif.) notch her second career hat-trick as the Panthers topped Colby 4-0 in the team’s home-opener on Dragone Field.

Juniors Lauren Greer (N. Hampton, N.H.) and Charlotte Gardiner (Larchmont, N.Y.) scored two goals apiece as seventh-ranked Middlebury moved to 2-0 overall with a 5-1 win over Colby (0-2) in their home-opener on Kohn Field.

Norwich held Middlebury scoreless for 53 minutes before the Panthers exploded for four goals in a non-conference match at Howard Field on Tuesday. Junior Brett Brazier (Okemos, Mich.) finally broke through the Norwich defense in the 54th minute to open up the floodgates and score the first of four Panther goals in the final 36 minutes of the match en route to a 4-0 win.
