The Middlebury College baseball team went 4-0 last week, winning three NESCAC West league games against Hamilton. The Panthers are in a good position for a post-season bid, with Wesleyan needing to take three from Amherst this weekend to eliminate the Panthers.

The Panther men’s golf team picked up a win at the six-team Williams Spring NESCAC Opener in Massachusetts. Middlebury shot a 301 to win the event, followed by Williams (303) and Trinity (313). Senior Jim Levins (Rutland, Vt.) earned medalist honors, shooting a 32 on the back nine to finish with a 71.

The Middlebury College men's tennis team earned another NESCAC win on Sunday, picking up a 7-2 victory over #10 Williams (8-3, 3-2). The top-ranked Panthers improve to 16-1 overall and 6-0 in NESCAC play, winning their eighth straight match.

The Panther softball team clinched the top seed in the NESCAC West, finishing league play with an 11-1 mark. Middlebury has six games remaining on its regular season schedule, before taking the road for the NESCAC Tourney May 6-8.

Senior Sally Ryan (Mountain Lakes, N.J.) scored the game-winning goal with 14:10 remaining in the second half, and the #11 Middlebury women's lacrosse team made it stand up for a 10-9 victory at #13 Tufts in NESCAC action at Bello Field on Saturday.

The Panther women’s tennis team won two of three doubles matches but had no luck in singles play, dropping a 7-2 match at fifth-ranked Tufts (12-3, 5-1 NESCAC) on Friday.

The Middlebury men’s lacrosse team held an early 3-0 lead over Tufts, but a late three-goal burst by the Jumbos gave Tufts an 11-8 victory at Youngman Field at Alumni Stadium on Saturday. In a game pitting two top 10 teams, the fourth-ranked Jumbos improve to 11-1 overall and sit atop the NESCAC with a 8-0 record, clinching the top seed with one conference game to play.
