WOMEN’S TENNIS DROPS TWO TOUGH MATCHES

April 25, 2011

The Panther women’s tennis team won two of three doubles matches but had no luck in singles play, dropping a 7-2 match at fifth-ranked Tufts (12-3, 5-1 NESCAC) on Friday.

In doubles play, the #3 pair of junior Sally Wilkey (Vero Beach, Fla.) and first year Dorrie Paradies (Atlanta, Ga.) were big 8-3 winners. In the #1 slot, sophomores Brittney Faber (Minnetonka, Minn.) and Leah Kepping (Northport, N.Y.) earned an 8-6 victory.

Earlier in the week the team saw its five-match winning streak come to an end with a 7-2 loss at home to Williams (9-3, 4-1). In doubles play, junior Victoria Aiello (Milton, Mass.) and junior Anna Burke (Summit, N.J.) came from down 7-4 to pick up a win at #2 doubles. Faber and Kepping picked up a 9-8 (1) victory.
