The Middlebury College men’s basketball team won its second NESCAC Men’s Basketball Championship with a 63-54 win at Williams in the title game. The Panthers earn the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament and will make their fourth consecutive trip to the tourney when they host a second round game Saturday night.

 The Panther men’s swimming and diving team finished fourth overall at the NESCAC Championships hosted by Bowdoin. First-year racer Ian Mackay (Vero Beach, Fla.) won a pair of NESCAC titles, while senior John Dillon (Wellesley, Mass.) earned one. Three Middlebury school records were also set at the meet, as well as two Bowdoin pool records.

The Middlebury College women’s hockey team advanced to the NESCAC semifinal round for the 11th straight year after a 6-2 win over Williams in Kenyon Arena. The Panthers will host next weekend’s semifinals and championship game on Saturday/Sunday, March 5th and 6th. Middlebury improves to 19-4-1 with the win, while Williams finishes their season at 4-17-1.

The Panther men’s squash team finished its season ranked 14th nationally, ending with a 14-11 record. At team nationals hosted by Harvard, the Panthers opened with an 8-1 loss to Williams in the Hoehn Cup (B Division). Middlebury bounced back in the back-draw, earning a 5-4 win over Bates, before falling to St. Lawrence 5-4.

Several members of the Middlebury College indoor track teams took part in the Open New England Championships hosted by Boston University. One individual and two relay teams earned All-New England honors at the event.

 The Panther ski team ended the carnival season with a fourth place finish at the Bates Carnival (EISA Champ./NCAA Regional). Vermont won the event (1,017), followed by Dartmouth (874), UNH (709) and Middlebury (684). The Panther men's GS team was tops on the weekend, finishing second overall.

 The Middlebury College men’s hockey team’s streak of 11 straight trips to the NESCAC Championship game has come to an end, after Colby topped the Panthers 2-1 in a quarterfinal game in Kenyon Arena. Third-seeded Middlebury ends its season with an 11-8-6 record, while sixth-seeded Colby improves to 12-10-2.
