            The Panther men’s swimming and diving team finished fourth overall at the NESCAC Championships hosted by Bowdoin. First-year racer Ian Mackay (Vero Beach, Fla.) won a pair of NESCAC titles, while senior John Dillon (Wellesley, Mass.) earned one. Three Middlebury school records were also set at the meet, as well as two Bowdoin pool records.

            Mackay impressed by setting a new pool record by capturing the 50 fly with a time of 22.31. He also picked up a NESCAC title in the 50 free, winning the event with a time of 20.60. Dillon won the 100 fly for the second straight year, setting a new pool record with a time of 49.36, making an NCAA “A” cut.

            Earning second place finishes were MacKay in the 100 fly (49.60), Dillon in the 100 back (50.16-“A” cut) and senior Mac Staben (Lexington, Ky.) in the 200 fly (1:52.71). Other top individual finishes include Dillon in the 50 back (22.37-3rd), junior Nick Daly (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) in the 50 free (21.04-4th), Staben in the 100 fly (50.63-5th) and senior Matthew Vukich (Madison, Wis.) who placed fifth in the 100 breaststroke (58.51).

            Also earning All-NESCAC honors at the meet were junior Kazu Asaga (Chappaqua, N.Y.), rookie Nick Keenan (Queensbury, N.Y.), junior Bob Divers (Dryden, N.Y.), sophomore Ethan Litman (Bethesda, Md.) and first-year diver Skylar Dallmeyer-Drennen (Canandaigua, N.Y.).

            Four different Middlebury relay teams earned second place finishes – 200 free, 400 medley, 200 medley and 400 free, while the 800 free team came in fourth. The 400 medley team of Dillon, Vukich, MacKay and Daly set a new school record with a time of 3:22.18, as did the 200 medley team of Dillon, MacKay, Daly and junior Will Griffin (Fort Washington, Pa.) with a time of 1:31.87.
