MEN’S BASKETBALL REMAINS UNDEFEATED
January 17, 2011 –

The Middlebury College men’s basketball team improved to 13-0 overall and 2-0 in NESCAC play as the fifth-ranked Panthers earned a 78-65 road win at Bates. The 13 wins to start the season are the most in school history for Middlebury, as they return to action on Tuesday at Hamilton.

SKI TEAMS OPEN CARNIVAL CIRCUIT
January 17, 2011 –

The Panther ski team finished fourth overall in the opening carnival of the season at St. Lawrence. UVM took home the title with 1,046 points, followed by Dartmouth (821), UNH (722) and Middlebury (669). The men's GS squad was tops on the weekend, finishing second overall with three in the top six.

WOMEN’S SQUASH IMPROVES TO 6-0 IN NESCAC PLAY
January 17, 2011 –

The Middlebury College women’s squash team improved to 9-1 overall last week, improving its winning streak to five matches. The 11th-ranked Panthers earned a 6-3 win at #14 Amherst, before topping #24 Connecticut College 9-0 at Amherst. Middlebury then returned home, picking up a 9-0 blanking of #16 Hamilton.

INDOOR TRACK COMPETES AT BOWDOIN
January 17, 2011 –

The Panther indoor track teams returned to action at the Bowdoin Quad Meet, competing against WPI, RPI and the host school. Senior Kaitlyn Saldanha (Scarborough, Maine) set a new school record with a win in the 600, finishing with a time of 1:37.82. She also won the 1000 in 3:04.91 and was a part of the winning 4x4 relay team.

MEN’S SQUASH WINS THREE MATCHES
January 17, 2011 –

The Middlebury College men’s squash team upped its winning streak to five matches as the 17th-ranked Panthers picked up three more wins. Middlebury opened the weekend with an 8-1 win over #19 Amherst, before topping #25 Hobart 9-0 at Amherst.

WOMEN’S HOCKEY SPLITS AT AMHERST
January 17, 2011 –

The Panther women’s hockey team used three third-period goals to maintain sole possession of first place in the NESCAC women’s ice hockey standings, as the visiting Panthers earned a 3-0 win over Amherst College Friday evening at Orr Rink.

SWIMMING AND DIVING TEAMS TOP HAMILTON
January 17, 2011 –

 The Middlebury College swimming and diving teams both picked up road wins over the weekend. The men edged out Hamilton 122-109, while the women came away with a 156-87 victory.

MEN’S HOCKEY TAKES A LOSS AND EARNS A TIE
January 17, 2011 –

The Panther men’s hockey team extended its unbeaten streak to six games (3-0-3) with a 1-1 tie against Trinity in Kenyon Arena. Before the game, Middlebury celebrated the 50th anniversary of the 1960-61 team that went 19-2, as the players were introduced before the game.

In a battle of 9-1 teams, the Tufts University Jumbos took down the Middlebury College Panthers, 70-54, in the NESCAC women's basketball opener on Friday night at Cousens Gym.
