SWIMMING AND DIVING TEAMS TOP HAMILTON

The Middlebury College swimming and diving teams both picked up road wins over the weekend. The men edged out Hamilton 122-109, while the women came away with a 156-87 victory.
Seven different women won individual events at the meet, while junior Katherine Loftus (Madison, Conn.) won the 200 free (1:57.80) and the 500 free (5:14.56). Sophomore Jen Friedlander (Deephaven, Minn.) won the 1000 free (11:01.45), first-year racer Alexandra Edel (Pacific Palisades, Calif.) placed first in the 200 IM (2:14.65), while junior Meagan Collins (Darien, Conn.) won the 1M diving competition with 259 points. Seniors Emily Whitaker (Riverside, Conn.) and Alyssa Ha (Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.) were both winners, with Whitaker taking the 200 fly (2:16.47) and Ha winning the 200 breaststroke (2:31.73). Sophomore Nora Daly (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) was Middlebury’s other winner, capturing the 50 free in 22.02.
On the men’s side, senior John Dillon (Wellesley, Mass.) earned a victory in the 200 fly, finishing with a time of 1:58.82. Also earning victories for the men were sophomore Harry Anixter (Burlingame, Calif.) in the 200 back (2:00.57) and senior Matt Vukich (Madison, Wis.) in the 20 breaststroke (2:17.08).
