INDOOR TRACK COMPETES AT ECAC’S

            The Middlebury College indoor track teams raced at the ECAC Championships hosted by N.Y.U. The women finished eighth among 45 scoring teams, while the mean were 23rd with 53 scoring squads. Top eight finishers earned All-ECAC honors.

            The women’s DMR relay team of seniors Kaitlynn Saldanha (Scarborough, Maine) and Erin Toner (New Providence, N.J.), junior Margo Cramer (Seattle, Wash.) and sophomore Juliet Ryan-Davis (Newton, Mass.) won the ECAC title and set a new school record with a time of 11:47.16. The 4x4 squad comprised of Saldanha, Ryan-Davis, Cramer and senior Christina Kunycky (Marlborough, Mass.) finished eighth with a time of 3:59.11, setting a new school mark.

            Junior Claire McIlvennie (Ithaca, N.Y.) placed second in the 3,000 (10:16.85), sophomore Sarah O’Brien (Wellesley, Mass.) came in third in the 1,000 (2:57.37), while senior Sophia Spring (Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y.) was fifth in the mile (5:02.75). Other All-ECAC finishers were Saldanha, who was fifth in the 800 (2:16.77) and senior Amanda Lee (Lincoln, Neb.), who was seventh in the 3,000 (10:29.51).

            On the men’s side, sophomore Anthony Lee (Plainsboro, N.J.) finished fifth in the 3,000 (8:39.22). The men’s DMR team also earned ECAC honors, as senior Addison Godine (Milton, Mass.), sophomore John Davies (Grosse Pointe, Mich.), junior Michael Schmidt (Wilmette, Ill.) and rookie Peter Hetzler (Rumson, N.J.) finished fifth with a time of 9:56.47, a new school record.
