The Middlebury College men’s tennis team advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinal round for the ninth consecutive season with a 5-2 win over Bowdoin (13-7) in the regional finals. The Panthers (18-3) will defend their national title at championship week with a quarterfinal match on Tuesday, May 24th in Claremont, California.

The Panther women’s tennis team saw its season come to an end with a 5-0 loss at Amherst in the NCAA Regional Finals. The Jeffs continued their postseason run and head to the national quarterfinals with an 18-2 record, while the Panthers end their season at 11-6.

The Middlebury College softball team had a great run this season, winning its first NESCAC Title en route to its inaugural NCAA Tournament appearance.

The Panther men’s golf team shaved five strokes off its day one score to shoot a 299 on day two of the 2011 NCAA Championship at the Grandover Resort in Greensboro, N.C. Middlebury finished the event in 18th place with a 603, with the top 15 teams continuing through the final two rounds.

The Middlebury College women's lacrosse team outscored Ithaca 7-2 in the second half on its way to a 14-7 win over the Bombers (11-7) in an NCAA Tournament first-round game on Kohn Field.

The Panther lacrosse team saw its season come to an end, falling 12-9 in an NCAA second-round game at Amherst. This marks just the second time in the last 14 years the Panthers did not advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinal round, finishing the season with a 13-4 mark.

The Middlebury College track and field teams were in action at the Open New England Championships hosted by Southern Connecticut on Saturday. The Panther women finished 11th of 32 teams competing, while the men were 19 among 35. Teams from Division I, II and III from across New England competed at the event.

The Panther baseball team saw its season come to an end with a 7-2 loss to Amherst in the NESCAC Tournament. Amherst junior Kevin Heller smashed a grand slam to left center field, breaking a 3-3 tie in the top of the eighth inning to lift the Jeffs to the win in a game played at AIC Park in Springfield, Mass. The Panthers end their season with a 15-16 mark.
