Senior Anna McNally (St. Paul, Minn.) scored a pair of goals to reach the 100-point plateau (48-52-100) as Middlebury picked up a 5-2 NESCAC win over Bowdoin (3-1, 2-1) in Kenyon Arena. The Panthers (5-0, 4-0) controlled much of the play in the game, outshooting their opponents 51-19 on the day.
The Middlebury College women's basketball team broke open a five-point game in the second half on its way to a 75-40 win over Johnson & Wales in Pepin Gym. The Panther defense forced 22 turnovers in the game, holding the Wildcats to 0-13 shooting from behind the arc. Middlebury improves to 4-0 on the season with the victory, while J&W falls to 0-2.
Leading 38-18 at the half, Middlebury held visiting Johnson State to .179 shooting in the second half, while connecting on 20-31 shots from the floor, en route to an 86-31 victory at Pepin Gym on Sunday. With the win, the ninth-ranked Panthers improve to 4-0 on the season, while the Badgers fall to 0-3.
The Middlebury College men’s hockey team dropped to 0-3 on the season as they fell 3-0 to top-ranked Norwich at the PrimeLink Great Northern Shootout hosted by Plattsburgh. Middlebury struggled with special teams, going 0-10 on the power play in the game.
