The Middlebury College women's volleyball team took over sole possession of first place in the NESCAC with a 3-1 (17-25, 25-18, 25-22, 25-22) victory over Tufts (14-5, 5-2) in Pepin Gym. The Panthers (13-3, 5-0) have now won six straight matches as they prepare to visit Skidmore on Tuesday.

The Panther women's soccer team scored three goals in the game's final 9:08 to tie the game and then tallied the game-winner just 5:13 into overtime to earn a key NESCAC victory over Amherst (4-3-2, 3-1-2). First-year player Scarlett Kirk (San Francisco, Calif.) couldn't have picked a better time to score the first three markers of her career, earning a hat-trick in the game.

The Middlebury College men's golf team earned a second place finish at the 16-team Hamilton Fall Invitational Tournament. The Panthers shot a 300 on day two to finish with a 612, while Manhattanville won the event with a 609. No more details are available at this time.

 Sophomore Lauren Greer (N. Hampton, N.H.) scored three goals and assisted on another to lead 17th-ranked Middlebury to a 4-1 win over 18th-ranked Amherst on Saturday afternoon at Kohn Field. The Panthers snapped Amherst's five-game winning streak to improve to 5-3 (3-2 NESCAC), while the Lord Jeffs drop to 6-3 (3-3 NESCAC).

The Middlebury College women's golf team finished third among 10 teams at the Williams Fall Classic. The Panthers shot a two-day total of 671, including a 326 on day two. The host school won the event with a 663, followed by Amherst (665).

The Panther men's soccer team earned its eighth shutout of the season, picking up a 1-0 NESCAC victory over #14 Amherst (5-1-3, 1-1-3) on Saturday afternoon. The loss is the first of the year for the Jeffs, while #19 Middlebury moves to 8-1 overall, 4-1 in NESCAC play.

The Middlebury College women's tennis team hosted the fourth annual Gail Smith Doubles Tournament on campus. Thirty doubles teams from five different schools competed in the tournament, honoring long-time Middlebury coach and administrator Gail Smith.

 The Panther cross country teams raced at Franklin Park in Boston on Saturday, taking part in the Open New England Championships with teams from Division I, II and III from across New England. The Middlebury women continued to impress, placing third overall in the 47-team race, second to just B.C. and UConn. The men's squad was ninth among D3 schools, finishing 24th in the 47-team race.

The Panther men's tennis team took part in the Stony Brook Invitational Tournament in New York over the weekend. The Panthers were joined by Division I, II and III teams at the tourney, with solid performances in several brackets.

After being held scoreless in the first half, Amherst put 38 points on the board in the second session on its way to a 38-31 victory over Middlebury (1-2) on Youngman Field at Alumni Stadium. The Jeffs (3-0) have now won 11 straight games after a perfect 8-0 mark a year ago. Middlebury senior Donald McKillop (Poway, Calif.) became New England Division III college football's all-time leader in completions with 666, overtaking James Williams of W. Connecticut (628 from '06-'09).
