WOMEN’S BASKETBALL COMPETES IN SWARTHMORE TOURNEY

The Panther women’s basketball team dropped its season-opener as they fell 59-42 to Haverford at the Swarthmore Tournament. Middlebury struggled from the floor in the game, shooting just .246, while Haverford hit .444 of its shots in the first half. The Panthers trailed 33-20 at the break, cutting the lead to 10 on a hoop from senior Alana Wall (Honolulu, Hawaii) with 14:59 left to play. Haverford answered with a 12-2 run to regain a 20-point lead, but the Panthers hung tough, cutting the margin to a dozen with 6:06 remaining.
