Baseball Drops Two At Trinity

5/1/05 - Middlebury traveled to Trinity over the weekend for a pair of non-NESCAC west games in Hartford. In game one, Middlebury trailed 2-1 before plating four runs in the fourth inning, sparked by a two-run double from Noah <?xml:namespace prefix = "st1" />Walker. Trinity answered with a run in the bottom of the fourth before Joe Ramoin homered in the fifth to give Middlebury a 6-3 lead. Trinity came up with a big inning in the sixth, plating four runs to take a 7-6 lead they would not relinquish.<?xml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Walker ended the game 2-4 with two RBI, while Dave Riester scored a pair of runs. Chris Fraser threw five solid innings, before the bullpen suffered the loss.

In game two, the Bantams hit a walk-off two-run homer in the bottom of the seventh to pick up a 6-5 win. The Panthers trailed 3-0 before once again scoring four runs in the fourth inning. Three of the four runs came on a three-run blast by John Lanahan. Middlebury added to the lead in the fifth, before Trinity scored in the sixth to cut the lead to 5-4.

Armstrong went 3-4 with two runs scored, while Ramoin ended the day 2-3. Senior Russ Budnick gave up three earned runs over six innings, before the bullpen took over in the seventh.
