Britton Headed To Summer League All-Star Game

Middlebury College baseball player Jack Britton (Carmel, Calif.) is turning in some great performances this summer in the NECBL (New England Collegiate Baseball League). Britton, who will be a senior at Middlebury this fall, has been selected to play in the NECBL All-Star game this Sunday, July 22nd at 7:10 p.m. The game will take place at Joe Wolfe Field in North Adams, Mass.
In a game and league mostly comprised of Division I players, Britton is currently 3-1 with a 1.04 ERA in 10 appearances this summer for the North Adams Steeplecats.
Britton earned all-conference honors for the second year in a row at Middlebury this spring, earning a sport on the second-team after another impressive season on the mound. The junior righty was one of four pitchers to go 4-1 this season, with 10 appearances. He started seven games and completed three, tossing one shutout. Britton boasted a 2.47 ERA, while allowing just 11 earned runs in 40 innings of work this season. He also paced the team with 39 strikeouts.
Britton holds single-season records at Middlebury for most innings pitched (69) and ERA (1.83), both in '06. He is knocking on the door of several career pitching records, with one season yet to play.
