Women's Cross Country Looks For Sixth Title

The Middlebury College women's cross country will take part in the NCAA Championship hosted by Baldwin-Wallace College at the Highland Park Golf Course in Cleveland, Ohio on November 21st. The defending NCAA Champions claimed titles in ’00, ’01, ’03 and ’07, with second place finishes in ’99, ’02 and ’04. This marks the 14th straight trip to the NCAA's for the Middlebury women, with titles in five of the last nine years.

Women's Cross Country Finishes Tied For First At NCAA Regional, Men With Solid Finish

Middlebury and M.I.T. tied for the women's team title Saturday at the NCAA New England Regional Women's Cross Country Championships held under rainy skies at the Twin Brook Recreation Center in Cumberland, Maine. Middlebury and MIT each finished with 63 points and earned the region's two automatic qualifying spots for next weekend's NCAA Division III National Championships to be hosted by Baldwin-Wallace College and the Cleveland Sports Commission. Williams College finished third with 99 points, followed by Amherst College with 116 and Wesleyan University with 159.

Cross Country Teams Race At ECAC's - Women Win Title

The Middlebury cross country teams took part in the ECAC Championships hosted by Williams on Saturdays. The women won the event for the first time in years, defeating second place Williams and third place UMass.-Amherst. The Panther men finished 13th overall. The races took place at Mount Greylock Regional High School in Williamstown, Mass.

All-NESCAC Cross Country Announced - Aldrich Is Coach Of The Year

The NESCAC has released its 2009 All-Conference cross country selections, based on individual’s finishes at the recent NESCAC Championship races. Head Coach Terry Aldrich was chosen as the Women’s Coach of the Year for the second straight season. Aldrich also received the conference’s top coaching honor in 2000, 2001. He has also been honored at the national level as coach of the year on five occasions, most recently in 2008 after the Panthers captured the NCAA crown.

2009 NESCAC Champions

Women's Cross Country Wins NESCAC Title - Men Place Fourth

The Middlebury women’s cross country team won its 10th NESCAC Championship in a race hosted by Trinity College. The Panthers placed four finishers in the top nine to come away with 49 points. Williams finished second with 59, followed by Amherst (71). The Middlebury men had a very impressive finish as well, earning 104 points to finish fourth overall, their best finish since '91. Williams (40) won the men’s race, followed by Amherst (88) and Tufts (90).

Cross Country Teams Headed To NESCAC Championships

Trinity College will host the 2009 NESCAC Cross Country Championships this Sunday afternoon at Wickham Park in Manchester, Conn. The 27th annual conference meet commences at 12:00 p.m. with the start of the women’s 6-kilometer championship race and will be followed at 1:00 p.m. by the men’s 8-kilometer race.

Cross Country Women Win Albany Invitational, Men Seventh

The Panther cross country teams took part in the Albany Invitational on Saturday with several Division I, II and III squads. The Panther women won the 24-event race, while the men came in seventh place.

Cross Country Open New England's

The Middlebury cross country teams continued to race well this season, turning in solid performances at the Open New England Championships at Franklin Park in Boston. The women finished the all-division race in ninth place among 49 schools, while the men came in 14th among 47 institutions competing.

Cross Country Teams Sweep State Meet

The Panther cross country teams both captured the State Championship meets hosted by Johnson State College. The women's team won the eight-team race, topping the University of Vermont, St. Michael's and Castleton. The men's squad captured their eight team race, ahead of UVM, Norwich and Lyndon.

XCountry Teams Race At Williams

The Panther cross country teams returned to action on Saturday when they raced in the Purple Valley Classic hosted by Williams College. The Panther women finished the 12-team race third overall, behind Johns Hopkins and Williams. The men’s team finished the race in fourth place, trailing UMass.-Lowell, Williams and N.Y.U.

Cross Country Teams Dominate Invitational

The Middlebury College cross country teams opened up their fall season by hosting the annual Panther Invitational race. Both the men and women boasted racers in each of the top eight spots in the two races. The Middlebury men won the five-team event with 15 points, followed by Williams (54), Norwich (91), St. Michael's (97) and Vermont Tech (142). The women earned 15 points as well in a six-team event, followed by Williams (53), St. Michael's (75), Norwich (127), Vermont Tech (156) and Johnson State (159).
