Ski Team Finishes 7th At NCAA's

3/13/04 – The Panther ski teams finished seventh overall at the NCAA Championships in Donner Summit, California. New Mexico won the event, with Vermont placing fifth as the top eastern squad. The high altitude had its effects on Middlebury, as it did for all the eastern squads in the nordic races. For complete results, click here.

Ski Teams Win Eastern Championship

2/28/04 - The Middlebury College ski teams have broken the nation’s longest conference winning streak by capturing the EISA (Eastern Intercollegiate Skiing Association) Championship, which also doubles as the Middlebury Carnival. Vermont had won the carnival for the previous 28 years before Middlebury took over the reins in ‘04. This marks the end of the carnival season for Middlebury, with the Panthers capturing five of the ski eastern carnivals this season. They return to action on March 10-13 at the NCAA Championships hosted by the University of Nevada-Reno.  (results)

Ski Teams Lead After Day One

2/27/04 - The Middlebury College ski teams are in first place after day one of the Middlebury Carnival at the Rikert Ski Touring Center and the Middlebury College Snow Bowl. Action continues tomorrow with nordic races at 10:00 and 11:15, and continuous alpine action from 9:30 until approximately 3:00 p.m.

Order Of Events Set For Middlebury Carnival

2/24/04 - The order of events is set for the upcoming Middlebury College Winter Carnival this Friday and Saturday, February 27th and 28th. The Eastern Ski Championships will be hosted at the Rikert Ski Touring Center and the Middlebury College Snow Bowl.

Ski Teams Win Again

2/21/04 - For the fourth time in five weeks the Middlebury College nordic and alpine ski teams have combined to win a carnival. This time is was the Williams Carnival as the Panthers (663), topped Vermont (646), Dartmouth (615) and UNH (520).

Ski Teams Place Third At Dartmouth

2/14/04 - Middlebury saw its carnival win streak come to an end as Dartmouth won it's own carnival for the second straight season. The Big Green had 777 points, followed by Vermont with 729 and Middlebury with 713. .(results)

Ski Team Knocks Off Vermont, Wins Third Straight Carnival

2/7/04 - The Middlebury College nordic and alpine ski teams continued their sensational seasons as they captured the University of Vermont Carnival. The win marked the first time the Catamounts have lost on their own mountain in the 31-year history of their carnival.(results)

Ski Team Makes History With Carnival Win

1/24/04 - The Middlebury College nordic and alpine ski teams did something no other teams have done in school history. The teams combined to win the school’s first-ever carnival race since the EISA has been combining team scores in 1983. The feat came at Sugarloaf USA, this year’s site for the Colby Carnival. (results)
