Having been a collegiate diver and cheerleader at Syracuse University (1977-81) where she earned her B.S.N in nursing, a head diving coach at the University of Vermont, (1985-95), Lisa brings with her a wide assortment of experience to draw upon in her sixth year as the head diving coach at Middlebury College.

Since taking over the helm for diving, Middlebury's divers have gained national prominence. In 2001, a Middlebury diver, Derek Chicarilli ('02) won NCAA Championship titles by taking first place in the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events. Consequently, Derek was voted 2001 NCAA Diver-of-the-Meet, and Lisa became the NCAA Diving Coach-of-the-Meet. In 2002, Derek repeated as the NCAA Diver-of-the-Meet, and for the third consecutive year, both Lisa and Derek earned similar honors at the conference level where Derek won both boards at the NESCAC Championships. As a mother of 3 children, Lisa balances her coaching responsibilities with her job as a Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse in Burlington where she and her husband, Scott reside.
