Bright, Becker & Butcher Compete At NCAA's

Three members of the Middlebury College men’s track & field team competed at the 2006 NCAA Championships at Benedictine University in Lisle, Illinois over the weekend.

NCAA Division III Coaches Name Regional Award Winners for 2006 Outdoor Track & Field Season

The U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has named its regional athlete and coaching award recipients for the 2006 outdoor season. NCAA coaches nominate and select award winners in their respective division.

Middlebury Competes At Open N.E.'s

The Middlebury College track and field teams competed at the all-division New England Track & Field Championships hosted by M.I.T. over the weekend. The men finished ninth overall, while the women placed 33rd.

Track Teams Perform Well At N.E.'s

The Middlebury College track and field teams were both competing at the Division III New England’s hosted by Springfield College over the weekend. The women’s team placed seventh of 28 teams, while the men came in 11th in a field of 26.

All-NESCAC Track Announced - Bright and Katz Earn Honors

Twenty-two members of the Middlebury College Track & Field Teams were named to the All-NESCAC team based on their performances at last weekend’s championship meet. For the second year in a row, senior Kevin Bright (Sharon, Mass.) repeated as the Sebasteanski Award honoree as the Most Outstanding Male Performer. Bright successfully defended his title in both the 400-meter dash (49.15) and the 400-meter hurdles (53.34). He was also a member of the Middlebury 4x100-meter relay team that placed third at the championship. Middlebury’s Jen Katz (Winchester, Mass.) was recognized as the female Most Outstanding Rookie Performer after placing second in both the 100-meter and 200-meter dash, along with helping the Panther 4x100-meter relay team to a second place showing.

Track & Field Both Finish Third At NESCAC's

The Middlebury College track and field teams both earned strong third place finishes at the NESCAC Championships hosted by Bowdoin over the weekend. Williams won both meets, followed by Tufts in second place.

Panthers Compete At Dartmouth

The Middlebury College track and field teams were in action with Division I teams at Dartmouth over the weekend at an invitational meet.

Track & Field Hosts Panther Invitational

The Middlebury College track and field teams hosted the Panther Invitational on Saturday, with Bowdoin and New England College visiting Vermont.

The Middlebury College track and field teams took part in the Williams relays over the weekend with several solid performances. Earlier in the week, senior Khristoph Becker (Media, Pa.) and sophomore Jimmy Butcher (Garden City, N.J.) competed at Tufts.

Track Team Hosts Middlebury Invitational

The Middlebury College track and field teams opened up their home season by hosting the Middlebury Invitational on the Dragone Track & Field Complex. The Panthers won 15 events on the day, with Vermont, Union, St. Rose, Colby-Sawyer and Norwich competing.

The Middlebury College indoor track teams were north of the border over the weekend, taking part in the McGill Team Challenge. Twenty-six teams were on hand at the event, with the Panthers the only team representing the U.S.

Panthers Compete At UVM

The Panther indoor track teams were in action on Friday, taking on the UVM Catamounts. First-year athlete Jen Katz (Winchester, Mass.) set a pair of school records in the meet to pace the women. Katz finished third in the 55-meters in 7.54, while placing second in the 200-meters with a time of 27.23, both new school marks.
