Twenty-two members of the Middlebury College Track & Field Teams were named to the All-NESCAC team based on their performances at last weekend’s championship meet. For the second year in a row, senior Kevin Bright (Sharon, Mass.) repeated as the Sebasteanski Award honoree as the Most Outstanding Male Performer. Bright successfully defended his title in both the 400-meter dash (49.15) and the 400-meter hurdles (53.34). He was also a member of the Middlebury 4x100-meter relay team that placed third at the championship. Middlebury’s Jen Katz (Winchester, Mass.) was recognized as the female Most Outstanding Rookie Performer after placing second in both the 100-meter and 200-meter dash, along with helping the Panther 4x100-meter relay team to a second place showing.
The women’s squad boasted two NESCAC Champions, junior Mary Frederickson (Florham Park, N.J.) in the javelin and first-year athlete Emer Feighery (Westborough, Mass.) in the pole vault. Senior Khristoph Becker (Media, Pa.) was also impressive, winning the NESCAC title in the javelin (197’4”).
Also earning All-NESCAC honors on the women’s side were Jennifer Brenes, Beth Butler, Emily Coles, Whitney Creed, Andrea Giddings and Lizz Huntley.
Earning All-Conference honors for the men were Steve Atkinson, Jimmy Butcher, Matt Engler, Jake Liberman, Matt Malek and Bobby Marcoux. Will McDonough, Patrick Sedney, Patrick Swan and Ben Fowler also earned All-NESCAC honors.
