The Panther track and field teams were in action at the ECAC Championships hosted by Springfield College over the weekend. Six Middlebury athletes earned All-ECAC honors.

Junior Bobby Marcoux (Campbell Hall, N.Y.) was the lone representative on the men’s side with a fourth place finish in the discus (152’).

First-year racer Jennifer Brenes (Lawrence, Mass.) was the top finisher on the day, placing third in the long jump with a school-record 17’7.5” effort. She also earned All-ECAC honors in the 100 hurdles with an eighth place finish in 15.31.

Placing fourth in the 800 was junior Beth Butler (Bronxville, N.Y.) with a time of 2:16.32, while senior Whitney Creed (Farmington, Conn.) came in eighth in the hammer (153’4”). Junior Andrea Giddings (S. Portland, Maine) also earned All-ECAC honors, coming in eighth in the 3,000 steeplechase (11:36.43).
