Kelly Coughlan earned All-New England honors in the triple jump.

A dozen members of the Middlebury College track and field teams took part in the Open New England Championships at UNH over the weekend. The meet consisted of Division I, II and III teams throughout New England.

The top performer on the men’s side was senior Jimmy Butcher (Garden City, N.Y.), who earned All-New England honors in the 5,000 with a second place finish in 31:03.

Junior Alexandra Krieg (Wellesley, Mass.) was the top female performer, earning a fifth place finish in the 5,000 with a time of 16:59.16. Placing sixth with a leap of 35’8” in the triple jump was junior Kelley Coughlan (Port Jefferson, N.Y.), while senior Jennifer Currie (Milton, Vt.) was seventh in the hammer (154’9”). Middlebury’s other All-New England performer was senior Ceara Danaher (Simsbury, Conn.), who earned the honor with a time of 11:26 in the 3,000 steeplechase.
