The Middlebury College indoor track team competed at the Dartmouth Indoor Classic over the weekend. Sophomore Kaitlynn Saldanha (Scarborough, Maine) won the 800, finishing with a time of 2:19.92, while senior Kelley Coughlan (Port Jefferson, N.Y.) captured the triple jump, setting a new school record with a 36’9.5” effort, qualifying her for nationals. Sophomore Jennifer Brenes (Lawrence, Mass.) earned a second place finish in the 60 meter hurdles (9.22-school record), while placing seventh in the long jump (16’5.75”).
Sophomore Christina Kunycky (Marlborough, Mass.) placed fifth in the 800 (2:23.91), while sophomore Erin Toner (New Providence, N.J.) came in sixth (2:25.37). Placing second in the 500 was sophomore Katy Magill (Boxford, Mass.) in 1:19.93, followed by rookie Julia Sisson (Omaha, Neb.), who placed sixth (1:21.75). Other top finishers for Middlebury were first-year racer Claire McIlvennie (Ithaca, N.Y.) in the 3000 (10:59.12) and sophomore Allison Astolfi (Merrimack, N.H.) in the long jump (16’5.75”).
Sophomore Adam Dede (West Chester, Ohio) placed second for the men in the pole vault (14’6”), as did first-year racer Michael Schmidt (Wilmette, Ill.) in the 5,000 (15:30.21). Sophomore Addison Godine (Milton, Mass.) finished fifth in the 800 (1:59.56), followed by sophomore Connor Wood (Lincolnshire, Ill.) in sixth (2:00.09), while junior Victor Guevara (Short Hills, N.J.) placed eighth in the 3000 (8:59.49).
