Describe your initial reaction upon seeing the campus and athletic facilities for the first time.

The athletic facilities were actually the first part of the Middlebury campus that I saw. I came over the hill on Route 30 and was amazed by the beautiful backdrop of the Green Mountains and the immense size of the Bubble and Kenyon Arena. As I drove further into the heart of campus I was continuously impressed with the architecture and physical setting. The facilities are unrivaled.

What is the one thing that makes Middlebury College a special place for you?

The size and intimate nature of the school really allows you to become genuinely close with all types of people. It's fantastic that Middlebury enables you to build strong, long-lasting relationships with teammates, classmates, professors, and coaches.

What is your best memory as a player at Middlebury College?

In the fall of 2006 we ran our NESCAC championships in hurricane like weather on Connecticut College's coastal course. I will never forget the pelting rain, the crashing waves, and the numbing temperatures for as long as I live. The skimpy uniforms did not bode well.

What have you learned from your sport that you will use in your everyday life?

Cross Country is a sport that is constantly both physically and mentally challenging. It has obviously taught me about perseverance and how to will through adversity. Although you're part of a team, individual determination is a large part of what makes a runner successful.
