Women's Cross Country Wins NESCAC Title - Men Place Fourth

The Middlebury women's cross country team won its 10th NESCAC Championship in a race hosted by Trinity College. The Panthers placed four finishers in the top nine to come away with 49 points. Williams finished second with 59, followed by Amherst (71). The Middlebury men had a very impressive finish as well, earning 104 points to finish fourth overall, their best finish since '91. Williams (40) won the men's race, followed by Amherst (88) and Tufts (90).

Claire McIlvennie was Middlebury's top finisher at the championship race, finishing in fourth place overall with a time of 21:57. Elise Moody-Roberts led a pack of Panther finishers in seventh, eighth and ninth places, earning a time of 22:21. Addie Tousley was just behind her at 22:23, followed by Sarah Lange, who came in with a time of 22:29. Amanda Quinlan was Middlebury's other scorer in 21st place, finishing with a time of 22:55. Just behind her in 22nd was Steph Moroney (22:56) and Sophia Spring in 23rd (22:58).

Michael Schmidt led the Middlebury men with a seventh place finish overall in 26:28. Jack Terrett finished the race in 14th place (27:12), followed by a pair of runners in 24th and 25th places as Mike Waters and Peter Hoffman both finished in 27:34. Jack Davies finished 35th overall in 27:46 to round out Middlebury's scorers.
