Cross Country Teams Fifth At Open New Englands

The Middlebury men's and women's cross country teams both finished fifth overall at the 2013 NEICAA Championships at Franklin Park in Boston. Both were tops among Division III teams racing, with each field featuring over 40 teams.

Sarah Guth led the Middlebury women with a 24th place finish overall, covering the race in 18:14. Not far behind was Erzsebet Nagy in 29th place (18:17), followed by Alison Maxwell in 42nd (18:34). Placing 48th overall for Middlebury was Katherine Tercek in 18:38, while Summer Spillane rounded out the team's scorers in 49th place (18:39).

On the men's side, Nate Sans was the team's top performer, finishing the race in 24:52, good for 13th place. He earned All-New England honors and also now owns the fastest time ever by a Middlebury runner on the course. Greg Krathwohl turned in a 22nd place finish (25:05), followed by Kevin Wood in 31st place (25:12). Coming in 37th was Wilder Schaaf (25:18), followed by Samuel Craft in 11th (26:10).
