Field Hockey


The Middlebury field hockey program is offering a Pre-Season Coaches Workshop on August 3-4, 2014. The workshop will help each coach further develop coaching ideas, skills and plans for the upcoming season. The event is a comprehensive and interactive two-day coaching workshop that includes classroom discussions, group work assignments and on-field demos/observations for all coaches in attendance. 


The Middlebury College field hockey team recently received the Gladiator by SGI/NFHCA Collegiate National Academic Team Award. The National Academic Team Award recognizes those institutions that achieve a minimum grade point average of 3.0 during the first semester of the 2013-14 academic year.

Middlebury College field hockey players Catherine Fowler (Grosse Pointe, Mich.) and Elinore O’Brien (New Canaan, Conn.) were named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-American teams. The pair helped lead the Panthers to a 16-3 record in ’13, winning the NESCAC Championship and advancing to the NCAA Regional Finals.


Four members of the Middlebury College field hockey team were honored when the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) released its all-region teams. Seniors Meredith Rowe (Kenilworth, Ill.) and Elinore O’Brien (New Canaan, Conn.), along with junior Catherine Fowler (Grosse Pointe, Mich.) earned first-team honors, while junior Alyssa DiMaio (Morristown, N.J.) earned a spot on the second team. Fowler was named the New England West Player Of The Year.
