Field Hockey At Middlebury
The field hockey team has enjoyed tremendous success over the years, including an impressive 142-31 record over the past nine seasons. In that time, the Panthers advanced to the NCAA Championship game on four occasions.
The '98 team captured the NCAA Championship with an impressive 17-1 record. The team also made NCAA Tournament appearances in '94 and '96, while capturing the ECAC Championship in '93 and '97. The team has also taken part in every NESCAC Tournament, winning the championship in '03 and '12. The team boasts a 248-80-3 record over the past 17 seasons, and has produced 51 All-Americans since '85.
Following pre-season training, the team competes in 14 regular season games. The schedule includes challenges from NESCAC opponents as well as other top regional teams. The schedule continues through October and begins to peak with the approach of the NESCAC and NCAA Tournaments, when temperatures cool and the foliage explodes.
The team's home, Peter Kohn Field, was dedicated in 1999 and boasts a state-of-the-art Astroturf surface with a picturesque view of Vermont's Green Mountains. The addition of this facility assures Middlebury top-notch field conditions and will provide for an up-tempo style of play.
