Salisbury came right back just 1:08 later as Erin Budd gave the Sea Gulls a 4-1 lead with a shot from the outside on a penalty corner.

The Panthers cut it to 5-2 at 14:43 when Reid Berrien's shot from the right side slid between the legs of the Salisbury goalkeeper. Middlebury kept coming as Claire Edelen scored from close range after a series of saves at the 10:46 mark to make it 5-3. Powell ended the momentum and sealed the game for Salisbury as her slow shot from the right trickled through the defense and into the back of the cage with 4:31 remaining.

Meghan McGillen made five saves in goal for the Panthers, while Maria Ramoundos stopped nine for the Sea Gulls. Salisbury out shot Middlebury 16-12 in the game. Ashley Lyddane, Janie Mackey and Allison Smith were each named to the All-Tournament team.
