Berrien & Farrell Earn All-American Honors

Seniors Reid Berrien (Westport, Conn.) and Lacey Farrell (Greenwich, Conn.) of the Middlebury College field hockey team have been named All-Americans by the NFHCA (National Field Hockey Coaches Association). The pair helped lead Middlebury to a 17-5 record and a third trip to the NCAA title game.

Berrien, who also earned second-team honors in '05, earns a spot on the second-team once again in '07. She is a three-time All-Region and All-NESCAC selection at Middlebury. Berrien finished second in the NESCAC with 2.32 points/game and 1.0 goals/game this season, earning 22 goals and seven assists for 51 points. Her goals and points numbers are place her second on Middlebury's single-season lists. She ends her career with some impressive numbers, including 60 goals and 19 assists for 139 points. Her goals and points totals are second all-time at Middlebury, while her 19 assists place her third along with Farrell.

Farrell is a third-team All-American selection after earning spots on the All-Region and All-NESCAC first-team teams for the second consecutive season. The senior midfielder was a steady presence all season long for Middlebury, boasting a team-best 12 assists on the year. She has also scored four times for 20 points, placing her fourth on the team in scoring. She ended the year with .57 assists/game, putting her second among her NESCAC peers. Farrell ends her career with 13 goals and 19 assists for 45 career points. Her 19 all-time assists place her in a third place tie on the school's list with Berrien.
