Field Hockey Players Earn NESCAC Honors

Three members of the Middlebury College field hockey team earned All-NESCAC honors when the team was announced today. Seniors Reid Berrien (Westport, Conn.) and Lacey Farrell (Greenwich, Conn.) earned first-team honors, while junior Taryn Petrelli (Harrison, N.Y.) was a second-team selection. The three are preparing for the upcoming 2007 NCAA Field Hockey Tournament.

Berrien earns first-team All-NESCAC honors for the third consecutive season. The senior co-captain leads the team with 18 goals and 41 points this season to go along with her five assists. Her 2.41 points/game put her second in the NESCAC ,while her 1.06 goals/contest put her third among her peers. Berrien is currently second all-time at Middlebury with 56 goals and is tied for third-all-time with 129 points.

Farrell earns first-team honors in the midfield for Middlebury for the second straight year. The senior leads the team with seven assists this season, putting her sixth in the NESCAC with .44/game. She also has a pair of goals for 11 points in '07.

Petrelli earns a spot on the second-team for the second consecutive season, representing the Middlebury defense. The senior helped anchor a defense this season that allowed just 1.47 goals/game.
