Describe your initial reaction upon seeing the campus and athletic facilities for the first time.

When I visited Middlebury for the first time I was truly taken aback by the setting of the campus. Between the unbelievable views of the mountains and the clean Vermont air, the atmosphere alone is a strong selling point for the school. This coupled with the incredible athletic facilities, vaults Middlebury to a level above its peers.

What is the one thing that makes Middlebury College a special place for you?

There are so many intangibles that make Middlebury such a special place. The one thing that ranks above and beyond so many other things is the sense of community. Whether it’s your strong relationships with your coaches and teachers, or your time spent with friends, there is always someone there to help you out along the way.

What is your best memory as a player at Middlebury College?

I am fortunate enough to have played on two National Championship ice hockey teams. Although these memories of winning will stay with me for the rest of my life, walking off the field last season after beating Ursinus in overtime is a memory that also sticks out in my mind. It wasn’t the prettiest game, but it was just one of those games where everything just seemed to fall into place. It was a true group effort, one in which everyone came together to pull off the win.

What have you learned from your sport that you will use in your everyday life?

There is so much to learn from playing a team sport. The culture and ethics of the Middlebury tradition, coupled with the team’s drive for excellence has taught me a lot about the hard work, determination, and accountability that it takes to reach the next level in all aspects of everyday life.
