Middlebury picked up a 4-0 non-league win at Keene State on Tuesday night. The loss snapped Keene State's (11-4) five game winning streak, while Middlebury, which had lost two out of its last three games, improves to 8-2. Chase Delano and Heather McCormack netted two goals each for the Panthers.
Delano scored an unassisted goal at the 22:43 mark of the first half and McCormack finished off a feed from Marnie Rowe to stake Middlebury to a 2-0 lead at the break.
Delano got her second of the game, and team-leading 17th of the season at the 42:05 mark of the second half, with an assist from Mullery Doar. McCormack capped the scoring with her second goal of the game and eighth of the season seven minutes later with Lindsey McBride drawing an assist.
Middlebury controlled play throughout the game and held a 27-3 advantage in shots and led 10-3 in penalty corners. KSC goalie Vikki Stoessel finished the game with a season-high 14 saves. Caitlin Pentifallo played the first 61:20 for Middlebury and stopped two shots, while Becca Shaw finished the game and didn't record a save.
