Field Hockey Earns Top National Ranking

The Middlebury field hockey team is the top-ranked team in the nation in the latest NFHCA (National Field Hockey Coaches Association) Division III poll. The Panthers were holding steady at #2 for several weeks, but with a loss by top-ranked Salisbury, Middlebury is now holding the #1 slot with a perfect 12-0 record. The Panthers have six wins this season over teams who were ranked in the top 20, including wins over #3 Bowdoin, #8 Tufts, #12 Trinity, #14 Skidmore and #15 Amherst. Middlebury returns to action on Saturday when they host Bates at 11:00 a.m.
