Keenan And Cleaver Earn Conference Honors

10/25/04 - Middlebury College football players Mike Keenan (Rutland, Vt.) and Tom Cleaver (Severna Park, Md.) have been named the NESCAC Co-Offensive Football Players of the Week. The duo helped lead Middlebury to a 42-31 win over Bates this past Saturday at Alumni Stadium.

Keenan ended the day going 31 of 45 for 427 yards with three touchdown passes on the afternoon. He broke school records for most completions, yards passing and most total offense (433) in a game. He now leads the NESCAC in yards/game with 236 and is ranked third in efficiency among the leagues quarterbacks.

His top target on the afternoon was Cleaver, who had a huge day as a wide out. The senior tied a school record with 15 receptions in the game, while breaking the school mark with 256 yards receiving on the afternoon. Twelve of his 15 receptions were for 10 or more yards, while eight of them were longer than 17 yards. He caught the team's second touchdown of the day with a 26-yard reception. Cleaver now leads the league in receptions/game with eight and receiving yards/game with 129.4.
