Hutzler And Secor Honored

12/7/05 - Senior Coleman Hutzler (<?xml:namespace prefix = "st1" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Las Vegas, Nev.) and junior Scott Secor (Lake Odessa, Mich.) were both named to the 2005 New England Football Writers Division II/III All-New England team. The duo were also both first-team All-NESCAC selections in '05.

A two-time All-Conference selection, Hutzler had another stellar year on the Middlebury defense. The linebacker led the team and the NESCAC with 93 tackles on the season, including eight tackles for lost yardage, two sacks and two interceptions. He had 10 or more tackles six times this season, including a 17-tackle effort against Colby. The senior ends his career at Middlebury second only to All-American Andy Steele, with 246 career tackles. He also had 26 TFL, 10 sacks, three interceptions and three forced fumbles.

Secor, the NESCAC's defensive rookie of the year in '03, earned first-team all-conference honors during his third season. The junior led the team and was tied for the NESCAC lead with four interceptions in '05. He was third on the team with 60 tackles, while ranking second with four pass break-ups. The safety had a dozen tackles this season vs. Amherst, while earning 13 stops against Trinity. He had a pair of picks at Bates, returning them for 77 yards combined.
