Kelly & Matson Earn East Honors

Middlebury College football players Andrew Matson (Coventry, R.I.) and Brendan Kelly (Niskayuna, N.Y.) have earned All-East honors by D3football.com. The duo helped lead the Panthers to a 5-3 season, with sole possession of third place in the final NESCAC standings.

Kelly, who also earned first-team All-NESCAC honors, was a part of a Middlebury offensive line that boasted the league's top-ranked offense. The Panthers led the NESCAC with 34.4 points/game as well as 445.4 yards of total offense/contest. The duo helped protect quarterbacks McKillop and Jack Kramer, as the Panther passing game led the league with 325 yards/game.

Matson was an All-NESCAC and All-New England selection, ending the season leading the NESCAC with 6.5 receptions/game and 110.4 yards receiving/contest. A District I Academic All-American, senior caught 52 passes for 883 yards for eight touchdowns in '08. Matson caught a season-high 10 passes for 177 yards at Colby, while earning 159 yards and two touchdowns on just four receptions at Hamilton.
