Matson Earns Academic All-American Honors

Middlebury College football player Andrew Matson (Coventry, R.I.) has been named District I Academic All-American by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors Association) for the second straight season. Earning a spot on the first-team this year, Matson will be placed on a national ballot, with the team being named on November 25th. Matson is also a two-time All-NESCAC Academic selection, who sports a 3.66 GPA with a biochemistry major at Middlebury.

Matson led the NESCAC this season with 6.5 catches and 110.4 yards receiving/game. He ended the year with 52 receptions for 883 yards, averaging 17.0 yards/catch to go along with his eight touchdowns. He ends his career on several of Middlebury's all-time lists - receptions-97 (4th), yards-1,451 (5th) and touchdowns-15 (T2nd).
