Former Panther Kicks NFL Field Goal

November 10, 2008

Former Middlebury College kicker Steven Hauschka '07 booted a 54-yard field goal for the Baltimore Ravens in their 41-13 win over the Houston Texans on Sunday, November 9th. The field goal make and attempt were the first of his NFL career for Hauschka. The former Panther also handled kick-off duties in the game, with veteran Matt Stover handling short field goals and extra points.

Hauschka was originally signed by the Minnesota Vikings, signing a free agent contract this summer. After an impressive pre-season camp with the Vikings, he was placed on waivers by the Vikings, with the team hoping to sign him to the practice squad. The Ravens stepped in and claimed the Middlebury grad off waivers and signed him to their practice squad after he handled kick-off duties in the season-opener.
